There's a lot of reasons, but the main reason is that Oracle is one hell of a company that focuses on lawsuits rather than innovations. I bet that their entire taskforce is, what, 60% lawyers.
Also, the lack of Long Term Support on JDKs is concerning me. Java 9 is out, and unfortunately there is no LTS for 9, or 10. Any developer wishing to future-proof their Java applications must wait until Java 11 comes out, and even then, who knows what kind of crazy things Oracle might dream up. (Their name checks out.)
In conclusion? Stop using Oracle JDK. Change to another programming language or failing that use OpenJDK.
Goddamn you Oracle.
